How to edit CSS? Tried but nothing happened, Thank you

Hello, Thank you for reading.

Tried to add some my own CSS to neve (Original template).

Didn’t add it to custom area since no need to add it to every page and user have to download those code repeatly. Actually some of them only need to show on one page. But it is also OK if they could be write in one css file then any user only need to download it one time.

Tried to write it in child theme’s style.css and failed. Then I used the original theme and write in style.css also nothing happened.

In the end I write it in style.min.css and it worked. But I checked the style.min.css it seems I should not write it in there.

But is there a right file I can write my own css in?
