I recently upgraded to 2.6 and now I cannot find how to edit my posts… When I click on Manage >> Posts it brings up a list of all my posts but I do not see an option to edit any of them. Am I missing something?

  • Did you try clicking on the title in the list?

Yes, clicking on the title takes me to the published post, not the edit screen.

Then there is something wrong with your whole setup: even in 2.5.x clicking on the title in the list took you to the edit screen, and in 2.6 should be the same.

(Clicking on the word “Published” should take you to the published posts)

    Seemingly your upgrade wasn’t successful.

I had a feeling something was wrong, but just wanted to see if I wasn’t overlooking something.

So do you suggest going through the whole upgrading process again?

When you see the published post and you’re logged in, do you see an “edit” link? If it’s part of your theme, you can see if you can actually GET to the edit screen.

Yes, I can edit if I go to published post and click the ‘edit this entry’ link below the post… so I am able to edit posts, I just don’t have any edit links in the admin menu (which would be much more convenient for me).

Yes, clicking on the title takes me to the published post, not the edit screen.

So whether you click the title or the word “published”, the result is the same?
In that case I agree with Moshu, something strange has gone wrong during the upgrade. (It’s not the function that fails, but the link to it.) Since it’s in the admin, you could try to just reupload the files from the WP root again and see if that helps.

Yes, both the title and the published links have the same result.

I tried to re-upload the wp-admin and wp-includes folders but that didn’t make a difference… I will keep at it and figure something out.

Thank you both for your input!

Ok, I figured it out… it was the Enhanced Post Management plugin that was the problem. All is well now. Thanks again for the suggestions.
