• In Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts, my podcast is called “My Cool Podcast” with the subtitle (or Author name or Talent name? Not sure what it is) “By My Cool Podcast”

How do I change the “By My Cool Podcast” part? I think that might be the <itunes:author> field in rss. Or maybe the <itunes:owner> field? But I’m not seeing where to edit that these Powerpress.

Thank you, Powerpress, for making it so easy to publish the podcast!

Can you reply with the URL to your podcast listing on Apple Podcasts. I did a search and could not find “My Cool Podcast” on Apple Podcasts. The link will help me answer better.

In PowerPress settings > Apple tab, there is a field called “Author Name”, you can fill that out with what you want displayed. If you leave it empty, it will use the author name of your blog post. If your WordPress author is empty, it will use your website title. I strongly encourage filing this field out.

Make sure you clear any web or server caches after making podcast changes.

Oh jeez, I wasn’t even in Advanced Mode. Totally missed that – my mistake. So yeah, the Author field was not filled in.

What’s a little strange, though: I do have an author name on the blog posts, “pbm”. And that wasn’t being used in the author name in the itunes listing. But anyway, I’m sure filling in this author field in the powerpress settings will fix the issue. Thank you!

Sorry about misleading you with a fake podcast name.

Oh no worries. When you provide the link to iTunes or to the RSS feed we are able to look at it and give a better answer.

Sounds like you figured out the issue. Soon we will be moving away from the advanced mode and change how the advanced options are displayed, which will minimize this confusion.

    Glad you are all sorted!
