how to edit the site without being seen online

    Good morning,
    I am a beginner and I have a question: how can I modify my website without being seen online? I need to leave my website online while I make my changes, this website is active since 4 years and I don’t want to loose positions on google.

  • You can install and run a backup plugin that copies the site files and database.

    On your computer you install MAMP, WAMP, XAMP – a server package that allows you to run WordPress locally.

    Install your backup and make all the changes you need to. Reverse the process to copy site back to live server.
