• After my viewers log in, they are directed to the ‘Welcome to WordPress’ page. How do I edit that page to say ‘Welcome to Mysite’ instead? I would also like to edit the rest of the page as I’m sure my viewers would like to see what’s pertinent to the site as opposed to the ‘WordPress development Blog’. My viewers are fashion enthuists and not a wordpress follower as I am. Please help!

    Why would your viewers “log in”? Just curious, I’ve never seen a reason to allow random users to register on a blog before.

    I’m curious as well. My ‘blog’ is a sub-directory (non-wordpress index page). Should I just direct them to the ‘blog’ page instead? The site is https://www.goodlookingbrother.com . New to wordpress, How should I handle this particular issue?

    Yeah, just direct them to the blog page and turn off user registrations. I mean, if they’re just viewers, they don’t need to login to view the site.

    What about the ‘users’ who want to post a ‘comment’? Shouldn’t they register?

    I never comment if I have to register on a site. It’s an annoying requirement… although that might be only my personal opinion.

    Laughing. Granted. How do I edit the ‘Welcome to WordPress’ page anyway?

    By looking at its URL…
    example.com/wp-admin/index.php <== that’s the filename

    also search for “customizing dashboard” and similar keywords.

    Tried that. Can’t see anything that says ‘WordPress development blog’ or ‘Where to buy a ‘wordpress hoodie’. Need to edit those links. Help?

    If you’re talking about the various links to WordPress development stuff, then those are in index-extra.php. They’re produced from RSS feeds on the WordPress site.

    I really wouldn’t remove them, you need them to keep up with updates and such.

    Good point, although I have you wonderful guys at www.ads-software.com and the other wordpress sites for current events and updates. How about if I save the original file and play with the copy? Like to experiment, like most wordpressers. Thanks for your help, guys (and gals)!
