I’m currently using the FlyMag theme to create an interactive website and would like to use the amazing “Recent Posts (Flymag)” widgets on the home page just like this site.

I found out that these widgets can be put at the Home page screen when using the front page class in the <body> tag. However, I checked mine that I only had “custom-background” class on my body tag. I did everything I could to make the page-template-page_front-page appeared on my code but it seems not working. I tried customizing it over and over again and reinstalling the theme but I had no luck.

Can you help me with this? I’m getting so frustrated in this issue.

  • Don’t worry about the classes, those are added automatically. What you need to do is set a static front page and then assign the Front Page template to it. See the documentation page for more help.

    Hi,

I think you need to create a static page for your home page and select the template “Front Page” in “Page Attributes” subpanel in the page editing screen.

    1. Create a page. Choose this static page as your front page (in WP settings) and for that page a front page template, save it.

    2. Go to Widgets and add the necessary FlyMag widget(s) to the front page widget area. Customize the widget(s) there and you’re done.
