    Hello,

Downloaded the LearnPress, and tried to enroll in a course, but it seems it requires PayPal, even if the course is free. I would like to set it up, such that free courses requires registration, but not paypal payment, but paid course would require paypal (and registration). Is there a way for students to enroll in free course without the need to go through PayPal?

    Thanks,

    Ray

  • Hi there, I have the same issue. Please let us know.

In the course settings when creating course, there are two options: free and paid course. When you choose free course, you have two option: login require and no login require. When you choose login require then user have to login in order of enroll. There is nothing require paypal when set up free course.

Please provide screenshot so I can understand your issue.

    Best regards,

Thank you for your prompt reply. Yes, if I choose no login required, the course is available on site. But for free courses that require log in, the client is directed to process through their paypal account. Even if the amount is $0, they still need to share their credit card or paypal info which may make them feel uncomfortable to proceed. Is there any way to avoid this? Any add-on which we could install or buy?

    Thank you!

I have set the course to enrollment required and free, but when I go to the course, it says “Free No student enrolled:, and below that is a “Buy this course” button. When the button is clicked, I get “View Cart” link that take me to checkout.

Looks like it’s not working as designed.

I will be happy to post the screenshot, do you know when I can upload the image?

    Hi Ray,
I see the same steps as you described. I hope there is a solution for this.

I am having this same issue. I have it set to Free, login required – it shows the price is zero but it requires the person to checkout. It then shows the paypal option and no other option to check out with. Regardless of whether you select a payment option, it still takes you to a PayPal error page that says,

We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact the seller via the “Ask Seller a Question” link on the listing page. When you have the correct email address, payment can be made at https://www.paypal.com.

Let me reiterate that I don’t want the person to have to go through a checkout process at all if it’s free. I just want to ensure they are logged in to the website in order to be able to take the course (which is free).

This thread has been taged as “resolved.” I wonder if the plugin authors still look into it or not.

Can you guys send me access info so I can take a look at your site?

It’s still work fine in my computer.

    Hello Hoang,

I have created a fresh install of the plugin (login information below). There two issues, if you can help with.

    1. I have two courses, both set to requiring registration, but both are free. When I click on the course, I am asked to buy the course, not enroll. How do I set it up, so the free courses do not require paypal, but requires student to register and login? But paid courses will require both registration and PayPal payment

    2. I noticed that if I make any lesson for preview, the student can actually see all the lessons. Click on the lesson marked preview and you will get a link for next and previous lessons and you can get the entire course that way without the need to register, login or enroll. Anyway to avoid that?

    Login information:
    https://test1001.x10host.com/wp-login.php
    Username: test
    Password: testword

I have similar problem. Offline payment not working – I see no option how to setup this, with free courses I have always PayPal payment event if I set everything in mysql related with PayPal to ‘no’. Btw, I’m not mysql guru, but option like this should be not logic or 0/1?

I tested this on current WordPress version with official newest themes (and other), on Chrome and IE/Edge browser and always same problem. As I see, I’m not only who have problems like this, so solution is elsewhere in code.

I like this plugin, whole LearnPress is easy to manage and with great potential, just one problem – it not working ??

    Hello Hoang,

Have had a chance to look at the issues (please see my email above with username and password). Any solution to these issue?

Hi, guys. I also have this issue. We are setting up a free course, but for students to have access there is a “buy this course” button. They have to pay a 0.00 bill in order to access. Is there any solution to this issue?

    Please, Hoang Ha, help us!!!

    1. I have the same problem.
    – I have it set to Free, login required – it shows the price is zero but it requires the person to checkout.

    2. I have another problem:
    – I just want to select “enable” for paypal email (payments settings). I don’t want select “Sandbox Mode”, but it is selected by itself.

    3. Could I have more “Courses Page” available? I’d like to offer course in 3 languages. So, I’m looking for 3 “Courses Pages”. Inside each page I could add courses in their correspondent languages.

Hi, I had this exact same issue with users having to pay for a free course but seems to have been fixed with the new update (fingers crossed).

I’ve now set my new courses to:
    1 free
    2 enrolled required

and now when users click on the course, if they’re not logged in they’re directed to log in. If they are and they click ‘buy this course’ they’re automatically enrolled in the course.

    Hi, same issues, already solved?
