How to exclude reels

Thank you for reaching out to us for assistance. I apologize for any miscommunication, however, we haven’t been of the stance to only provide Reels availability for the Pro version. Should there be any other information that mentions this it is not correct. Like when we added IGTV, it’s visible for both Free and Pro users. The difference here is that in this case, even Personal connections can show the Reels (IGTV Posts were only visible with connected Business Profiles, unrelated to our plugin versions).

As for being unable to disable them, that would be correct in the current state of the plugin. Being able to show only Photos, or only Videos is a feature available in the Pro version. That being said, we understand Reels suddenly displaying could be an issue for some of our users both Free and Pro.

The Instagram API shows Reels just like standard videos. Our developers are looking into whether we can differentiate these and include an option (including in the free version) to disable Reels specifically. This may or may not be possible, and we will get back to you here when we have further information.

Currently, these will show in your feed just like standard videos. If you have additional questions in the meantime don’t hesitate to let me know!

Hi, just purchased the Pro version wanting to disable the reels, is this possible yet?

Thanks for contacting us! Currently in the Pro version, you can disable all videos, but our development team is still working on an update to the plugin that will allow you to filter out only the Reels posts. To disable videos, you can go to WordPress Dashboard > Instagram Feed > All Feeds > (click name or pencil icon to edit the feed) > Settings > Filters and Moderation, and uncheck Feed Videos in the Show specific types of posts section.

We will release an update with filtering for Reels as soon as we can, so please ensure to keep the plugin up-to-date to receive this as soon as it is available, and apologies for any inconvenience as we work on updating this.
