I’m not a coder, so I would appreciate some help. I’ve written Amber Panther twice with this question and have gotten no response.

In the Cleanroar theme I would like to exclude the side bar on a few pages. I would appreciate it if someone would give me specific instructions on how to do that. Thank you.

  • When editing or creating a page, check the left-hand column for a Templates option. If there is a template that supports No Sidebar, select it and you are good to go.

Otherwise, you will have to get someone to create a template page for you for this theme. You can probably get that done inexpensively on a sites like jobs.wordpress.net or wpquestions.com

Thank you for responding. I could probably handle the template. The problem is that there is no facility for using it that I can find in Cleanroar.

i use Widget Logic plugin and works great for what you want to do. you can download at www.ads-software.com and the codex explanation on how the tokens or commands work is posted below.

widget logic places a small window inside each widget you want in the sidebar. so lets say for example your niche is cats & dogs. and you only want certain widgets so show on your cat post or pages. then all you need to do is this…

    is_category( ‘8’ )
meaning that this widget will only show if category 8 is current (cats).

you can use slugs and titles too. for more info on the codex go here.

there is also a command to use to ignore pages or posts you dont want the sidebar to show.
