How to Experiment before Switching to 2024

    I am currently using Customizr theme in WordPress and Nimble Builder plugin for a website. I would like to try 2024 theme. How can I try to build the site with 2024 without making it live? I’d like to experiment with the theme before making it public. What are my options for doing that? It seems like I would need to make new pages with the 2024 theme to take advantage of the new options. Is that right?

  • Hey @sjh687 ! The easiest way to play around is by using WP Playground. It runs entirely in your browser, and will let you test various things, including plugins, different themes, and more.

    If you want to test with your current content, you might need to check with your host about setting up a staging site.

    Is it possible to use WP Playground to create a page or two for my current site? So, I am thinking of designing two pages in WP Playground then switching to Twenty Twenty Four on my current site and then moving the two pages immediately to my current site. Is that even possible and how would I do that?

    Hi @sjh687 At the moment Playground really only creates a whole new site, rather than just certain pages.

    It’s also only possible to have a single theme active on your site at a time – so it wouldn’t be possible to have just two pages using TT4 while the rest of the site uses the old theme.
