How to fix after upgrade

After upgrading a very out-of-date website (both core and plugins) this plugin broke – and so did the theme that used it. I received a message saying that the plugin had been deactivated.
To fix it, I had to rename the file aqua-page-builder.php under ~/plugins/aqua-page-builder/ to aq-page-builder.php.
