How to fix duplicate meta descriptions – Rank Math

    Hi there.

    I have been struggling for days trying to figure out how I am going to fix the “Duplicate meta descriptions” error for my website.

    Search engines picks two meta decriptions, the one inserted in the header and the one from the article (snippet)

    I can’t tell how I can set it so that search engines will ignore the one inserted in the (<header>) header.

    I am using the Rank Math SEO plugin and was wondering if anyone could help me fix this.

    It seems like your theme or some other plugin is also adding the meta description to your site. https://i.rankmath.com/i/XTzDWg

    Please follow this guide to find the plugin or theme that is adding the additional meta description tag: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    If the issue persists when only your theme and Rank Math are enabled, then it must be coming from your theme. You can check your theme’s settings to disable the meta description or get in touch with their support if there is no option to disable it.
