  • Hi there,

in Google Pagespeed tests there is always a LCP element listed, its simply the largest ( in pixels ) element displayed when the page firsts load. As your LCP element is simply a HTML Heading ( Woocommerce Title ) it has very little to NO impact on the LCP time.

To improve the LCP time – focus on the other diagnostics the report provides beginning with:

    Eliminate render-blocking resources?
    i) use caching / optimisation plugins to reduce render blocking
ii) load your google fonts locally – https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/ or use a plugin like PerfMatters to load them locally.

    Which one would you recommend?

    Going to test PerfMatters, thanks!

PerfMatters is my personal preference, it includes lots of optimisations, local font font loading and bunch of settings for removing code where it’s not necessary – incl. ones specifically for Woocommerce.

Thanks! What I don’t understand about the performance report.

Why does it only affect the mobile version but not the desktop one?

Performance on mobile is only 78 vs. 98 on desktop.

Google emulates the devices and networks for each of the tests based upon some kinda global benchmarks.

Desktop emulation is on a higher specification device on a fast Wifi network
vs Mobile emulating a Moto G ( mid range ) mobile device running on a Slow 4G network

    You’re welcome
