• I have only just begun to use this website and as I have a 40 hr per week job I don’t have much time to devote to the learning curve. I tried to find similar issues already covered without any luck. If my question can be answered by just directing me to someone else’s already answered question, then that would be just as good as replying to me directly.

I am running Word Fence and have been notified of a potential malware attack. The video right here: https://youtu.be/M4mczEDRsbg

I am not confident about how to fix this. I know it is very simple. I did do some debugging not long ago. I just don’t have any staging or backup implemented yet, so I don’t want to screw it up.

Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

Thank you very much – this is perfect! I have been thinking about paying for Word Fence Premium, as I suppose that would prevent hacking and I wouldn;t have to worry about the cleaning. I paid for Codeable the last time and it cost about what the WF premium would cost me for a year.:(
I liked the Codeable experience but can’t afford it, heh heh). But my support guy told me about Word Fence, and that has been great. Thanks again for your guidance and consider this closed! Best to all!
