    Hello,

With WP 4.0 and Mantle theme, how can I force mobile devices to get the full desktop view (responsively working theme with the same colors and header images as in the browser version).

When entering the site with mobile device, on default the browser loads ripped version with wrong color, and in the bottom there is a link “View Full site” where you get the desiser look.

    How can I fix this?

  • I have exactly the same problem with Mantle theme. Please share you insight!

    Try to remove <meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1″> tag from your theme header.php file

    Hope this will work.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner – I mainly follow the parent theme’s support area, not the child themes.

I have a plugin you can install that will disable the mobile functionality.

    https://generatepress.com/free-plugins/generate-disable-mobile/generate-disable-mobile.zip

Save the .zip, and upload it to “Plugins > Add New > Upload”.

Do you still have the plugin somewhere to download? The link is 404

Sorry about that – link should be live again.

Installed the plugin and enabled it. There is no effect on the matter at hand: the default mobile view appears and the desired look is achieved only by selecting “View Full Site”. Is there something else to do? Didn’t find anything on the GeneratePress menu about this plugin.

There’s no feature that gives you the option to view the full site, so you may have a mobile plugin installed, or maybe a script installed to the domain by your hosting?

May be best to check with them.

    Let me know ??

As far as I tried the plugin had no visual effect on anything. Even if the plugin is enabled, the layout on the mobile site is the as before. I will ask the hosting if there is anything that affects on this.

I′m not sure if you understood what I′m looking for. This seems to be quite basic thing to change but the tips I found from web wont work with this theme.

Here is what I get as default when using the site with phone: https://www.karismafilms.fi/temp/1.jpg

This is what I would want to have: https://www.karismafilms.fi/temp/2.jpg

    Any suggestions?

In that case, you want to deactivate the plugin I linked to above.

However, you still have another script or plugin creating a mobile site for you. The mobile version of GeneratePress should look very similar to your desired screenshot, however, the default mobile site is being overwritten by an external script – perhaps another WordPress mobile plugin?

There’s something install on your site or your server which is creating the mobile site that you don’t want – you’ll have to find that plugin or script and remove it.

Let me know if that makes sense ??

OK! I disabled the plugin you provided and went through all the plugins. The different layout on the mobile site due the Slim Jetpack-plugin that had Mobile site setting turned on. I didn’t notice that before on the plugin list. Thanks for the help!

    It’s working now!
