• How to future proof changes to this file – >bazaar>woocommerce>cart>cart-shipping.php

I have made changes to the wording in cart-shipping.php

My theme is Bazar and it contains a woocommerce folder and I have made the changes to cart-shipping.php in the Woocommerce folder in Bazar and it is working.

I think that when Woocommerce upgrades, Bazar will produce an upgrade also, and I will lose my changes.

I am using a Child theme of Bazar, could I put that folder in the child theme, using the same path?

Would that stop it being overwritten?

  • Since Bazaar is a theme, the woocommerce folder under the bazaar folder IS the template folder. (The named template folder is only in the base WooCommerce plugin.)

So, yes, if you create a woocommerce/cart/cart-shipping.php in your child theme then your changes to that file should be future proof.
