How to get a executable download file to properly link to a product page button
-
I have uploaded a couple of exe file extensions to be downloaded by our website users and visitors. I have had to install a plugin to add the meme, a plugin to import the files from ftp to be recognized by the media library and I’ve created links to the .zip files which work perfectly which is located in the exact same folder as the .exe files are and I can’t get the download links to work. I keep getting a 404 error. The files are there if I go to my server file manager or my ftp client. The files were imported and are listed in the media library and when I copy the URL link from that file and place it inside the coded button on the page, it says that’s it not found and shows a 404. If it’s the file that I’m trying to download, then why would I not put the link directly to that file to be downloaded?
I use to just put the link in a page and people could download the files, I chose to create buttons and nothing works. I even have other sites that works with exe files but this one just won’t do it. Can somebody please leave step by step directions on how to link an executable file from within the media library and connecting it to the buttons I’ve shown on this page. Thank you.The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
