How to get a image in front of each archive-listin

  • Hi!
    I am currently trying to re-design my blog, and I want a small gif to be in front each archive-listing (each month) and in front of each category in the menu…
    Where do I add the gif’s URL?
    Which file do I have to edit?
    And is it even possible (everything is possible, I’ve been told…:) )

    Thanks, but I have some how removed the li-tag’s in front of these listings…
    Therefore I must have been able to add an image-tag there in front of these as well…? :s
    I was hoping to find a before and after-option in wordpress’ admin-part, but that was only on the Links part…

    I managed to add an image in front of the category-listings by editing the file template-functions.php…
    Anyone here who knows how to do the same to the archive-listings?! Please?!
