How to get a licence for my theme

    Hi, I am a new one in wordpress, please could somebody tell me what should I do to get a licence for my theme.

    Hi, I am developing my own theme and I want to licence it.

    Ok, then please go to themes marketplaces, there are a few around (base price around $50 for single use).

    That’s complicated. ?? You do not need a license from anyone BUT your code for a WordPress theme will have the following:

    All WordPress theme’s PHP are licensed via the GPL. The individual javascript and CSS may not be licensed via the GPL provided they do not use code that is a derivative of other GPL code.

    I guess you could say that from all work based upon open source code.

    Still, and not that I like it, doesn’t prevent a famous brand to grab parts of unix code, nor millions to use franhaufer/mp3 lib, which is not commercial

    (actually Thomson tried to buy it I think, but due to issue with university, they more or less abandoned rights at condition you state them). But do you state them when listening a song in mp3? hmm, I don’t.

    But, yes, very complex and deep issue.
