How to get an OpenID?

  • I am the administrator of my own wordpress site , and am wondering whether I can somehow use my admin login for OpenID authentication on other websites.

    From what I understand, OpenID is only automatically available for wordpress sites hosted on wordpress.com. Is that correct?

  • I can’t answer that since I know neither; however, since OpenID permits one to put it on one’s website, I would have assumed that automatically you can have only one OpenID therefore that registered with them would work everywhere. Kind of the point.

    Mozilla’s newer BrowserID has a few better implementations, and there is a plugin for that (not that you couldn’t have both… )
