• Ok… I followed a really great tutorial on how to design, slice and code a wordpress, but then I got lazy (short on time) and went with a pre-made theme.

But, I learned how to use XAMPPLite to set my wordpress up on the localhost so that I could see it without actually loading it to my site. I used WordPress 2.5 (I think, newest one)

So, I have it perfectly how I want it on localhost, and I have my own website (hosted by dreamhost). Right now it has my old, regular HTML website on it.

I want to load my wordpress (as it is on localhost) to my website. Anyone want to take a stab at telling me how to do this step-by-step? I’m pretty good with computers and I have loaded regular pages before (I just loaded a new page to my other (XHTML) website with SmartFTP, so I can handle that.)

    Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!!

  • There is a *great* guide to “Moving WordPress” in the WordPress Codex that explains all that better than I could. From your description of your skills, you should find everything you need in that article!

Of course, if you have a particular problem or question, you can always post back here, and someone can likely help you further! Good Luck!

Ok, cool. So I wasn’t making the connection that my “localhost” was being considered the “old blog”. (Brain fart, I suppose…)

    Thanks!
