    Hello,

I am redesigning a scholarly organization’s website. I have done WP designs before, so I used jurassic.ninja to tweak the design from the theme we liked, saved a copy of the relevant details, etc.

But now that I am turning to the actual install I realize that I have no idea whether the domain has MySQL (or equivalent) or not. I tried to install WP in the /demo directory the organization set up for this purpose; but that’s when I discovered that the domain does not seem to have databases (at least as far as I can tell).

Can someone have a look at the domain and tell me if I’m right? And, if I am, what do I need to do? I went over to the download page for MySQL Community Edition, but there was such a wide array of things to download that I wasn’t sure where to start.

    Thanks for the help!

Please contact your webhosting support for MySQL related questions.

As far as i can see hostcollective.com is specializing on ASP.net hosting,
for running WordPress you will need PHP and MySQL (MariaDB)

I see. So, just to be clear, I will need to contact the actual web hosting service; this is not something that I can do on my own.

    Thanks for the help!

Correct. The hosting company should have that ability and they will have more information on that.
