you can turn those off by disabling wpautop. there are at least two plugins that I Know of that accomplish that.

yeah but whenever I try to validate my site I get that as an error…do you happen to know why my smilies won’t show up?

you have multiple issues with your validation. <p> tags aren’t going to cause problems in and of themselves unless they aren’t closed.

yeah but no one will answer so I figured I would ask and see if you knew…Yeah I know how to fix all the other problems that are wrong with my site but it give me an error for my blog.
