How to get rid of WordPress Importer?

    I have a blog network of 15 sites. One one of them (I don’t remember on which one) I have activated WordPress Importer. Just out of curiosity, as I recall, since I didn’t ever imported anything with it.

    Now, I would like to remove it and… I can’t.

    I have network deactivated this plugin, but when I go to “Inactive” tab in my “Plugins” section in my blog network admin dashboard, there’s no regular “Delete” option next to it. When I check it and try to delete it using bulk operations, I see error: “You cannot delete a plugin while it is active on the main site”.

    When I go to Tools > Import section of my main site, I can only see “Run Importer” option next to “WordPress”. There is no “Delete”, “Deactivate” etc.

    At this point I am lost. So… what should I do to get rid of WordPress Importer?

  • You can delete the folder at:

    /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/

    True and thank you for bringing this solution.

    Though I was hoping that there is less brute-force way of achieving this.
