I’ve seen other forum posts that indicate [short-codes] are working now in the Footer Content section.

When I go to Appearance > Theme Options > Advanced settings and post [short-codes] in the Footer Content section, they do not parse. Any tips or tricks on how the others that have posted to the forum and have indicated success are making it work?

Has anyone ever made this work?

Is quark and unsupported theme now?

Quark is still very much supported. I can’t however, answer peoples questions every single day so sometimes it might take a week or so to get a reply.

If you want to use Shortcodes in the footer, download the latest version from Github. I’ve only had the time to do a couple of very minor changes recently so I haven’t submitted the latest version to the .org repo yet.

The version on Github has the fix to allow Shortcodes in the Footer section

FYI — your current v1.3.1 Footer Content Block does not parse PHP code so the following does not work:

    <?php echo date("Y") ?>

Are you trying to put php in the Footer Content field within the theme options page? If you are, then yes, that’s not going to work. If you want to use a php function, then you should be overriding the footer.php file and adding it in there instead.

    Ok, got it…that’s fine

You did mention earlier in this thread that you’ll be pushing an official update and shortcode parsing soon, correct?

    (@ahortin)

Possibly. Not sure when. As part of new rules for the Theme Directory, I’m going to have to remove my existing Theme Options page and add the Theme Options into the Customizer, so there’s a good chance that I’ll wait till I do that first.

    Good afternoon @AnthonyHortin.

I just got alerted to upgrade Quark to 1.3.2 but I can’t locate a changelog of what is new in 1.3.2.

Can you tell me if Footer shortcode parsing is included in 1.3.2 ?
Can you also post what is different between 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 ?

    Thank you Sir,
    -Frank

Hi Frank. You can find the changelog at the bottom of the readme.txt file. And yep, the shortcode update is included.
