how to get special letters

  • like ā ē ū ? … do i need some language file or something like this? see my page tehno.no.lv for example there ā=?? please help.

  • Are you typing/writing your post in the WP admin panel or do you copy it from somewhere?

    Has your computer/keyboard support for the language you are using? Normally, WordPress lets you write in any language.

    i am writing and keyboard have support, maybe i need to download some text font?

    I don’t know what you mean by “text font” – if your computer is able otherwise to write in your language, then it should appear correctly in WordPress… unless the server where you are hosted is screwed up.
    There was a similar question last year (for Latvian) and it turned out it was his server: the user could comment with the correct fonts on my dev blog, see it here:

    Maybe the problem is with your database? I mean the encoding of your database?

    As you can see, here – if the settings are correct – you can post your special characters.

    When trying to validate your site: it always says you are using a non-utf-8 character in your text.
    Forcing the validator to show what’s there regardless, you get this error page. Maybe it can help.
