How to get specific category name?

    I am looking for a solution to display a specific category name, I want to display it alone, no link, no breadcrumbs.

    2 possibilities?
    a) I know how to get this category id, what can I do with that?
    b) this category occurs to be the parent category of the post, can I use that?
