How to get the data from custom fields display?

I tried to use the search function, but, no matter what I enter, it gives me no results.

I just installed myself the new version of WP and I saw that it has custom fields implemented. However, the plugin I was using when I had 1.2 doesn’t work with it anymore, I get a “fatal error, a call to an undefined function…” etc. So, since I am out of the loop and I absolutely have no clue at the moment, please forgive me about asking this, but how can I actually display the data from the custom fields on my blog? I searched the template tags on the Codex, but I didn’t find anything ??
