How to get this functionality

  • Setting myself a Xmas holiday project – setting a secondhand book buy & sell website for our community centre. The idea is people would see the listing, swap detail via contact form to meet for the books – so no online payment necessary.

    This is the look and functionality I want:
    https://www.shef.ac.uk/union/books-on-a-budget/index.php

    – guest would be able to register, list books & buy books (cart?)
    – guest would be able to message back and forth with the seller. (contact form?)
    – ISBN number lookup would be tricky?

    What’s the best way to go about this?
    In terms of theme and plugin?

    Any advice and pointer would be much appreciated as I’m scratching my head on how to do this well.
