How to get WP preferences values ?

    Hello,
    In the WP admin, one can set quite a lot of preferences. How do I get a specific value from the settings ?

    I’d need to get the number of posts to display per page, which is set in the “read” preferences.

    (Not sure of the section name as I use WP in french, where it’s called “Options de lecture”.)
