how to get yahoo like functionality

    Dear Folks,
    I have a website having many sub- domain like spots, news, business etc. i want the recent posts of sub- domains to be displayed on my main domain home page. The post on home page should have a picture, text and a hyperlink to sub-domain. just like yahoo functions on its home page.
    Can someone guide me on how to achieve it?
