How to Handle Multiple Venues

We are a single site church with four rooms/venues (large hall, small, hall, kitchen and lounge) which are available for hire.
What I’d like to do on The Events Calendar is to show a single event but with more than one room or venue (e.g. birthday party where the large hall and kitchen are booked).
I think the only solutions are to use (a) categories to show which rooms are booked or (b) separate bookings for each venue but I’d be interested to know if anyone else has solved the problem differently.
