How to have a custom field always present?

  • Hi, I have a custom field, Location, for all my posts (displayed near the title). But every time I post something new, I have to enter both the Location custom field and the data in it. Can I just have Location always visible to be populated? This would save a bunch of repetitive effort.

    The default custom field UI isn’t very user friendly, is it? It kind of has to be that way to be usable under almost any scenario. I suggest using one of the custom field plugins which will offer a better, persistent UI for you to use.

    It’s also possible to custom code your own meta box within which you can present any sort of HTML form element you like. It’s a lot easier to use a plugin ??
