How To Have Duplicate Taxonomy Slugs?

  • I know that I can create subcategories with the same names but the slugs have to be different than all others. This becomes a problem when I need multiple categories that each share the same sub-categories. For instance I might have the following structure

    News

    -computers

    -mobile

    -corporate

    Reviews

    -computers

    -mobile

    -corporate

    After creating the subcat for computers when I go to create it for Reviews, wordpress converts the subcat slug to corporate-reviews which will give me a link like mysite.com/reviews/corporate-reviews/somepost

    Of course having reviews in there twice is bad. I’ve found a plugin that fixes this (hopefully up to date) https://www.wordpressduplicatecategories.com/ but it costs money. I was wondering if anyone knew of a free seo plugin that can accomplish the same as this plugin (I’ve been searching).

    I’ve also noticed that the same company making that plugin has another that does the same job but just for categories and costs half as much wordpressduplicatecategories.com . So I’m guessing that if I just need it for categories I could get that one though I could see where it would be useful for multiple taxonomies. I wonder though if this could hurt my site in same way (even though I plan on keeping my post titles unique).
