How to hide menu after clicking link on same page?

I have a MegaMenu with navigation based on same page anchors.
like https://sitename.com/somepage#somelink1 etc.
MegaMenu items work fine with links to https://sitename.com/somepage type.
But MegaMenu panel does not hide when menu item is pointing to anchor oin page like https://sitename.com/somepage#somelink1, you have to manually hide menu to get to the content.
How this can be fixed?
The desired behaviour and good UX is to hide menu after the target #id is in viewport.
