How to highlight keywords on search results page?
-
The live (ajax dropdown) search results show highlighted keywords every time. But on the search results page (after hitting enter or click mag icon) the keywords in the post titles are not always highlighted.
I tested it out a bunch of times and only saw the keywords in post titles on the search results pages highlighted once.
Is keywords highlighted on search results page a Pro feature? Guessing there are many variables at play which could affect this including server performance, WP version, caching, plugin conflicts, etc.
I’m using a good server, plenty of resources, disabled cache, latest version of WP, php 8.1, and generally clean optimized setup, Blocksy theme.
One thing, I just noticed, if I let the ajax dropdown live search results stay open for a longer period of time (like 2 or 3 minutes) and then hit the Enter key then on the search results page, the keywords in the post titles are actually highlighted.
I have general settings > behavior > max results set to 30
Seems like server needs a little extra time in order to make the highlighted keywords show up on post titles in the search results page.
Any ideas? Thanks
