How to implement the actual functionality of cookies?

    Hi,

    Really dont mean for this to sound stupid but I am a little confused to how to get this to work for me.

    Installed the plugin, works great however after reading I can see it is only the banner which is installed and we need to manually set the cookies to work on the accept/decline functions.

    Question is. How do I do this? Is their a guide somewhere? I have been looking online and can find a lot of information about cookies but none with the actual code/development to implement it.

    Again apologies if this is stupid. If someone can point me in the right direction that would be fantastic.

  • same here. I can’t figure this stuff out at all. I need to use GTM on a website, and I have zero idea how to get this installed.

    Hi @guerrilladigital, @gregcloyton,

    In order to set cookies based on user consent, you need to add the scripts of the cookies via the Non-Necessary sub menu under GDPR Cookie Consent menu. You can enable non necessary cookie and add the scripts under the head or body part, according to your requirement.

    I have enabled the checkbox as instructed above ^ However what scripts am I suppose to put here? I have seen I have a few cookies being used from cookie-checker.com however what do I actually put in those boxes to stop allow a user to turn them on or of?

    Again apologies if this sounds ridiculous. First time I have been asked to implement this.

    Hi @gregcloyton,

    For the scripts related to any non-necessary plugin cookies, for any plugin, you may contact the plugin vendor and they will be able to provide you with the required scripts.

    Unfortunately, we may not be able to help you fully with cookies used in your site. The site owner is supposed to know the whereabouts of the cookies used in the site. Please contact your site developer or concerned person for assistance.

    There’s a really good user guide on how to use the Premium plugin, but is there any chance of pointing us in the direction of some user guides for the free version.
    The process you’ve described appears to make sense, however a single demonstration of this would be useful to get the process started.
