    Hello,

first of all tnx a lot for your great plugin.
I have installed it, but since then I can’t get the real number of visitors to my website (webfoodculture.com), probably because people that does not accept cookies is not counted anymore.

It seems that the only way to have the ‘real’ statistics back is to enable Google Consent Mode by using the ‘Method 2: Implementation using the custom script’ in your guide.

Excuse me but I’m not very good at programming. Could please tell me exactly in which text file I should paste your custom script?

After doing that, can I really have my precious visitor statistics back?

Many many thanks in advance for your help and patience.

    Cheers,

    A.

    Hi @anthyx,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

Hope you have gone through this documentation. The Google Consent Mode script should be placed just above your Google Analytics/ Google Tag Manager script on your site.

Suppose you have the Google Analytics script in the header.php, then place the custom script above the Google Analytics script in the header.php file.

Google Consent Mode helps you get the site visitor count. Make sure you have connected the plugin with the CookieYes account to enable this feature.

    Hello CookieYes! Team,

thanks a lot for your fast reply. I have just placed your script in header.php, just above the script “Global Site Tag (jtag.js) – Google Analytics” (is this the Google Analytics script you was referring to, right?) .

As per your documentation the order in header.php should be this:

    • Custom Consent Mode script
    • gtag / GTM script
    • CookieYes script

But I was unable to find the CookieYes script.
(The plugin is already connected to the web account)

    Is this correct? Any suggestion?

Again, thanks a lot for your help, it’s much appreciated.

    Hi @anthyx ,

The gtag.js is the script of Google Analytics we were referring to and the implementation done is correct.

Regarding the CookieYes script you don’t have to worry about as the plugin will add the script automatically when you are connected with the CookieYes web app.

    Hello CookieYes team,

Another question regarding the Google Consent Mode.

Is it possible to enable the Google Consent Mode without connecting the plugin to the CookieYes web app? Or is it required to be connected?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi @yvett,
    Greetings from CookieYe!
It is important to connect with CookieYes web app in order to use google consent mode. Without connection it will not work.
