How to import from blogger to WordPress

  • Hi Everyone,

    I want to transfer my blog from blogger to wordpress. Can someone guide me the step by step process of doing it.

    I want to keep my blog address same after transfering the blog to wordpress.

    I found some tutorials about doing it… but I found it difficult to understand.

    I am having problem to understand how I can keep my Domain name same, as I import my blog from Blogger to WordPress?

    eg. my current domain name on blogger is https://blog.mysite.com. I want to change my host to WordPress keeping my domain name same. Can someone please answer this to me.

    Yes, why not? Just change your domain’s nameserver to the newly selfhosted nameserver and your domain will be pointed to after 24 hours of propagation.

    If you are talking about while importing content into WP with same custom domain, then you can change the host file of your system. Or you can use firefox add-on (i.e switch-host).
    So that you can import all the content into WP from blogger blog and after everything is done from your side, you can make WP blog live publicly instead of blogger blog with same domain.

    I would love to hear your recommendations after I have successfully transferred to WordPress. I am using my best experience to make it look good for the readers. I would like to know your opinions.

    The major problem I am facing now is: The internal linking that I’ve done in the blog post earlier … those links doesn’t works now. Since I have to change the URL structure now, is there a way that I can re-direct the older links to new ones, or on a page which is active.
