    Hi all,

    all-in-one wp plugin

I have no problem to export a wp Linux website as a .wpress file and import the same to a VM (guest) of Oracle VirtualBox which can be treated as a PC. The website imported will run on the VM correctly. But I have not figured out how to import several .wpress files to the same VM so that the respective websites will run on the same VM.

If importing one .wpress file after another then the later .wpress file will over-write the previous .wpress file. Please advise how to make it. Pointers would be appreciated. Thanks

    Regards

Yes, it is not possible to “append” wpress files.
A wpress file is a backup of a WordPress install. When you import/restore the file, you will get the website that is in the wpress file.

    Hi Yani,

    I got your point. Thanks.

Would it be possible to export multiple websites simultaneously to the same .wpress file and them import the file to a VM (i.e on the same PC in my case)?

For example; I have multiple websites with different domains on Godaddy, hosted on the same server. Can I export all of them simultaneously as one .wpress file and then import the same .wpress file to a VM?

    Thanks

    No.

What are you trying to achieve?
You have site A, site B, and site C.
What do you want to do with them?

All the 3 sites are hosted on Godaddy server.

What I’m prepared to do is duplicating them on my desktop PC(on a VM).

I did it about 10 years ago without any plugin, duplicating multiple sites to the same VM on my desktop PC. They are still working. But it took me some time to finish, not with several clicks.

    1. Go to site A. Install the plugin. Export. Download wpress file.
    2. Go to site A on your VM. Install the plugin. Import the wpress file from step 1.
repeat the steps for all sites.

In the first messages, I misunderstood that you were trying to import site A, site B, and site C onto 1 site A that will contain a merge of the site’s content.

    Hi Yani,

    1. Go to site A. Install the plugin. Export. Download wpress file.
    2. Go to site A on your VM. Install the plugin. Import the wpress file from step 1.
repeat the steps for all sites.

I have done your suggested steps before posting. When I imported the .wpress file of site B to the same VM where the .wpress of site A has been imported, it over-write the imported .wpress file of site A.

Anything I have to do with “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” on Settings -> General after having imported the .wpress file of site A before importing the .wpress file of site B?

Now I set both “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” with the internal IP address. The duplicated site on each VM is evoked with internal IP address on browser.
