how to increase spacing between post and footer

Are you referring to the page footer or blog post footer. I was having a difficult time see the difference in the two examples that you don’t want.

I am not quiet sure which footer needs to be adjusted.

The dates at the end of my post is over the blog post text. I am not sure how to give it the spacing it needs.

I removed the author and date with CSS

You might try adding margins or padding to the containers.
