So, do I need to create another directory like this:
    wp-content/themes/kubrickallsidebar

Or, can I just use the existing directory?

    New would be best.

    Thanks for your help:-)

Another question….Do I upload all 15 files and the Images folder to the new directory location?

    Yep.

I assume that I will lose all my sidebar links, adsense, and buttons.

Will i also lose posts, and categories?

And, if I switch back, will they still be there on the original theme?

If you’ve edited these into another theme, then yes…until you add them to your active theme.

Will i also lose posts, and categories?

    No.

Nothing is lost. All the important stuff is in the database.

I have tried the instructions. I am technically savvy, however I do not have a “Presentation” option in my adminstration console.

Why is it missing? I only have:

Write Edit Categories Links Users Options Plugins Templates Upload Profile View site ? Logout (CJ)

kcgbjc, looks like you’re using a version of WordPress pre-1.5. Got to have at least that version to use the new themes functionality (well, not so new these days).

Yep, isn’t that just the way it works.

As soon as I posted, I tripped over that. I had just installed it so I assumed I had the newest and greatest already.

    I can’t believe I did it!
    Thanks guys:-)

Could we assume that makes this a “resolved” issue? If so, how about changing the dropdown above to reflect that? Thanks!

I’m also using WordPress for the first time and want install a new theme. However when I ftp into my site I don’t find a directory called wp-content/themes, nor any directory called wp-anything.

The blog works, just want to install new theme.

    Thanks,
    BD
