Hi, this is my first post here (I think). I am sure this is something trivial but I was not able to find it when searching the forum.

I just uploaded the upload.php file from blueblurry.com.

I uploaded it into the /blog/wp-content/plugins folder

I refreshed the /wp-admin/plugins.php in the browser and saw a new entry in the plugins list, however, its description is just a€?) ?> and it has no plugin title and version, just the link to activate.

How do I properly install a plugin?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mitko

Follow the directions the author gave… it’s not a plugin, it’s a replacement for an existing file in wp-admin.

Hmm, OK, I replaced the existing file in wp-admin but I am not sure how to access the upload.php file (nowhere in the navigation), so when I went to the file directly in the browser, I got this:

Warning: main(admin.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lawre2/public_html/blog/wp-admin/upload.php on line 2

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘admin.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/lawre2/public_html/blog/wp-admin/upload.php on line 2

I guess it is looking for a file admin.php which I do not have… Is it save to remove those lines?

How do I enable the upload.php function in the config?

Go to Options/Miscellaneous and check “Allow File Uploads”.

You don’t have an “admin.php” file in your wp-admin directory? Are you running 1.5? If not, that “upload.php” is written for 1.5, so there’s no guarantees it’ll work in whatever you’re running.

If you are supposed to be running 1.5… where’s your admin.php file? May want to make sure your installation isn’t corrupt.

Opps, apparently I am on 1.2.2… Where do I get upgrade instructions and files?
