How To Install WordPress into Host using FTP?

    I was reading different answers to this question :

    How to Install WordPress into Host using FTP (the host has no Fantastico)

    Some online answers say :

    1. Use Filezilla and just FTP the WordPress software files (unzipped) to host.

    2. Same as above BUT need to create additional step by creating database in host.

    Which is CORRECT? Can someone help me by giving me detailed resources or links?

    I am not technically trained, so please do give me the answers in layman’s language. Much appreciated.
