    Hello,

I noticed that there are shipping settings under the main settings, but there is no way to integrate a shipping method. How to do the same?

Currently, order is getting placed –> admin approves for payment –> payment done –> admin approves as completed. Even here, there is no shippng(in transit) status. Even without it, if admin marks order – completed, the shipping should automatically trigger right? Basically a mail to shipping personnel(internal) and shipping vendor(external), who will process keep providing status updates, till order has been complete, both at my as well customer end.

How can all that be achieved? Please suggest

    Thanks

    Hey there!

WooCommerce does not have shipping tracking built in. The built in methods are flat rate and free shipping.

If you’re looking to add in tracking info, you’d want to use a plugin like this one https://woocommerce.com/products/shipment-tracking/

If you want to add a custom order status (something like “shipped”) you can do that using a plugin like this one: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-order-status-manager

Hopefully that helps! Have a great one!

@slash1andy Thank you for both suggestions. I will explore both. Well my query though was more elementary i.e how does one add shipping and shipping methods to ones site? Is it not in built, like a direct transfer incase of payment method, which is a default option. One can add more options(payment wise) as requisite.
I see similar shipping plugins as well, but I don’t see the basic shipping method setting, which should not come into affect post payment/during order, automatically and ask the customer to choose a shipping method.

    Hope that clarifies.

    Hey there!

Once you have Shipping zones set up, WooCommerce includes 3 methods of shipping: flat rate, free shipping, and local pickup. You can of course add more using plugins, so things like vast table rates, getting rates directly from USPS, etc.

Here’s the documentation for shipping zones and flat rate shipping.

@slash1andy Thanks, those are the type of shippings.

What I am looking for is way to integrate logistics partners like, FedX, BlueDart, etc etc, and how do they fit in the workflow? Once integrated with a plugin and chosen by customer at the time of purchase, do they get a mail from woocommerce saying there is a new shipping order? Can packaging be interim step before delivery? So on and so forth.

    Thanks

    Hey again!

The rates would be integrated into your site via the plugins I mentioned earlier, but it would not send orders to the shipping companies. You would use their software to print labels, etc.
