    Hi,
We are set up for category podcasting. One of our podcasters wants to stop (possibly end) her podcast for medical reasons. However, she uses her podcast episodes in her marketing and doesn’t want the episodes to disappear from iTunes if we pull it from our account. We’re trying to learn what options she might have.

    1. If a podcaster does not want to maintain their podcast on our account – is there a way to help them transition their podcast to a Powerpress/Blubrry account of their own without deleting their podcast and its episodes from iTunes?

    2. If a podcaster does not wish to have us maintain their podcast on our account, and we have the podcast deleted from our account, does that remove the podcast and all of its episodes from the iTunes Directory?

    3. If a podcaster decides to set up their own website and wants to use a different podcasting service/plugin for some reason, is there a way they can keep their podcast and episodes live on iTunes while they make that transition?

    Thank you,

    Maggie

The podcaster who wants to transition their podcast away from your site will need:
*their own working podcast RSS feed
    *active media hosting

Blubrry has different solutions for this, depending on their needs. The key is to leave the existing podcast online and active until they’re ready to start on their own. If you take the podcast down before then, it will be removed from syndication points like Apple Podcasts, etc.

Once they are established with their own podcast feed, the existing podcast feed can be redirected to the new podcast feed. This will maintain the show’s listings with platforms like Apple Podcasts, etc.

    Hi Shawn,

Ok – that makes sense so far. Two more questions.

    1. How do they establish their own podcast feed if they want to use the PowerPress plugin on a website of their own? And how do we redirect their podcast feed from our account/plugin to theirs in that scenario?

    2. Or – if they choose to use an entirely different service – how do we redirect their existing podcast feed to the service they choose to use?

I’m not clear on how the actual process of redirecting a feed from our Powerpress setup would work. Thank you!

    Hi Maggie,

The process of redirecting of a WordPress-based feed URl is the same regardless of where the feed URL is being redirected to:
    https://create.blubrry.com/manual/syndicating-your-podcast-rss-feeds/changing-your-podcast-rss-feed-address-url/

If the podcaster wants to use WordPress/PowerPress for their podcast feed, they’ll need to get WordPress hosting either thru Blubrry or another company and then install/activate/set up the PowerPress plugin. If they need help, have them e-mail [email protected] and we can advise them on what to do.
