    Hi,

We would like to keep the open graph meta description empty for some of our facebook posts. But if we leave it empty, it gets the text of an excerpt or from the content.

How can we keep it empty?

    thanks

If you set the meta description in the social settings as blank, and set the meta description in the snippet blank as well, the plugin will generate an excerpt of the first words of the content as your og:description.

You can choose to disable open graph tags accordingly should this fit your needs — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/getting-open-graph-for-your-articles/

    Thank you Michael,

So there’s no solution to keep the meta description blank and there appears no description on Facebook? (that’s the goal)

Unfortunately, there is no way to let the og:description field empty unless you disable the entire open graph or using a filter.
