• Hey everyone. I have a question about the widgets.

I am using the Twenty Thirteen Theme, and I have widgets in the footer.(what it calls the main widget area) I have widgets on certain pages that are also in the sidebar(“secondary widget area”) For some reason, my fourth widget in the footer has moved to underneath the second widget. It did this when I inserted my sidebar widgets, so I figured it’s because my sidebar widgets are kind of lengthy. Is there a way I can move the fourth widget back? Because I have plenty of space there for the widget, but I guess it thinks the widgets will collide.

I would like to fix this for every page, but the only page where colliding might be an actual problem is the home page. If I deleted that widget than the fourth one will move right back. I need this widget there at the moment, though. It’d be deleted(maybe replaced with some else) in the future.

    Thanks for the help!

Is there a way I can change the space in a widget? One of my footer widgets has an awkward amount of space between its image and text. the image is placed via html linking, not the image widget because that made the text disappear if the image was bigger than a certain size. Thanks!

In Chrome, ctrl, shift, I will bring up the developer tools. Using the magnifying glass on the left side you can determine what css controls an element, make changes to change then put the changes into a child theme.

Where did you get the theme? They would be responsible for trouble shooting.

If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations. Doing this will provide the developer with the income they need to make WordPress awesome.

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

My question I posted today is a different question concerning the widgets. I have since bought a theme named EShop from zigzagpress.com. I was just wondering if I could close the space inside the widget itself, which I had noticed did the same thing using a wordpress free theme as well. I could ask my theme forum but I wanted to ask here first since it isn’t just a problem within the theme. Thanks!

No, it requires css which should be added to a child theme.

If you don’t know css this is a good chance to learn how it works. Other wise ask for assistance in your theme forum.

Okay. I have done things with CSS so I guess I can figure it out myself. I wasn’t sure if there would be an easier fix to it or not, though.
