HOW TO: let not-wordpress page to display wp’s list of last posts

  • Guys, please help if you can!

    I have a html template. Fully coded. I just wanna wordpress to show a list of 20 recent posts on my main page.

    I kinda want wordpress to do background job. So i can easiely add news, and then their titles will display on my page.

    So i dont wanna use full wordpress template with all it’s parts. Just need a list of news on my main page and then, when one title is clicked, the new page open and display an article on simply coded php page.

    Is it possible, guys?

    I tried to add php lines in my template and save the page in *php after that. But error displays.

    I have my index page in the same directory as wordpress’s index.
