How to Limit the Number of Characters in a Post Title Exceprt

  • So, my new site is challenging me at every turn. https://bookreviewuniverse.com

    You can see that a recently-added post makes the blog list shortcode go all wiggy because the title is 3 lines long instead of 2. So far, I have simply manually truncated the titles (which I do NOT want to do). The theme dev doesn’t seem interested in changing his shortcode to keep the rows separated cleanly.

    What I need to do is limit the title length of the excerpt only.

    I have seen a few entries but they are quite old including this one: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/limit-title-to-25-characters I was wondering if that code will do the trick?

    It’s also possible that this change won’t affect this because it IS in a short code.

    I see that the URL you provide from WordPress Forum are great and working solutions. But that all depend on how your theme developed. As I can see those posts are made using Custom Post Type so you need to find correct file to change.
